This week we hosted a Dementia Conversation, as part of Dementia Action Week 2021! Bringing together dementia stakeholders from across the borough, we spoke to carers, people living with dementia, professionals, and volunteers alike. The day was kicked off by our special guest and Alzheimer’s Society ambassador, Russell Grant, who gave a moving and poignant talk about his late mother. After some chair yoga with Cinzia Cavendon, our resident instructor, we were also joined by Louise Bates from the Alzheimer’s Society who informed us there are now 2622 dementia friends in Brent alone! That’s more than 2,500 people taking more time and care to be aware of the struggles people living with dementia face. Thank you so much to all who attended, gave their thoughts, and helped us agree a recovery plan for mental and physical improvement/resilience.
