Dementia speaks its mind:Hendon Football Club were the welcoming and generous hosts of a CADBrent/Ashford Place gathering back in February as people living with dementia and carers agreed a manifesto for a dementia friendly borough here in Brent.
Aims include disability friendly public transport, clarity about and accessibility of support services, greater awareness of dementia amongst the general public, development of a volunteer programme across the borough, and a plea to listen to the views and needs of people living with dementia.
The manifesto will be presented to Brent Council, Brent Clinical Commissioning Group and others to continue discussions on how we can work together for a dementia friendly borough.
Thanks to Edward Harvist – Brent Council – funding for supporting this event.
It was not all work, work, work.
The group enjoyed balloon activities and a lovely Caribbean lunch.
