Dementia Voices Brent lead the development of a five year Brent Dementia Strategy.
Dementia Voices Brent works as a consultation and engagement vehicle in the borough of Brent in order to raise awareness of dementia across all communities, and to ensure accessible health and welfare services.
The group meets every third Tuesday of the month at Ashford Place and is welcoming people living with dementia, their family members, and professionals. Not like any other project, Dementia Voices Brent is led by people living with the condition and only facilitated by professionals. Dementia Voices Brent was represented at Alzheimer’s Society “Dementia Friends Champions Conference” on 31st October 2018 and is actively involved in shaping “Brent Living Well with Dementia Strategy 2018-2023”.
Dementia Voices Brent is a part of DEEP – The UK Network of Dementia Voices.

On the 29th November they will be attending along with partner agencies the ‘You Said We Did’ Workshop’.
Following on from the launch of Brent’s Forward Together for a Dementia Friendly Brent back in the summer of 2018 there has been a lot of work going on to bring together all the feedback received from people living with dementia, their carers and key partners and to turn this in to an action plan. The draft plan has been reviewed by the Dementia Voices Brent group both for accuracy and accessibility.
The event on Thursday will agree the final draft which in turn will indicate the priorities for Brent over the next few years.
