This week, 10 of our Decaf (Dementia Café) Leads from CAD Brent came together for comprehensive safeguarding training, reinforcing our commitment to delivering safe, high‑quality, community‑based support for people affected by dementia across Brent.
CAD Brent is an independent, stand‑alone charity, rooted in the borough and working in close partnership with local services and communities. As a voluntary sector organisation, we recognise the importance of maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding, accountability and good governance across all our activities.
Our Decaf Leads, supported by their dedicated teams of volunteers, play a vital role in reducing isolation and creating trusted, welcoming spaces for people living with dementia and their carers. Ensuring that everyone involved is confident, informed and up to date on safeguarding policies and procedures is essential to maintaining these safe environments and sustaining the trust placed in us by our community.
As we grow and respond to increasing need, ongoing investment in training enables us to protect those we support, while also empowering our staff and volunteers to carry out their roles with confidence and clarity.
“Safeguarding is not just a policy requirement — it’s fundamental to the trust our community places in us. By investing in high‑quality training for our Decaf Leads and volunteers, we are strengthening the foundations of safe, compassionate support for people affected by dementia across Brent.”
We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers for their time, commitment and professionalism. Their willingness to engage in training and development ensures that our services remain safe, sustainable and impactful — and that every person who walks through the door of a Decaf Café in Brent is treated with dignity, respect and care.
