Brent Carers Workshops – Understanding Dementia
This week’s Understanding Dementia workshop explored the complexities of navigating social care—an issue of deep concern for people living with dementia and their carers. At what is often a vulnerable and transitional time, timely access to the right support is vital. It enables individuals to live well, remain at home for longer, and stay connected to family, friends, and community.
” We are excited to announce the launch of the upcoming Understanding Dementia Workshops here in Brent. From 2nd June 2025 to 7th July 2025, there will be a series of workshops aimed at local carers supporting people in the borough who are living with dementia. Often, carers face new unknowns as they support someone with a diagnosis of dementia. These drop-in sessions will be the perfect opportunity to gain new knowledge and hear directly from different services available, which can hopefully develop a feeling of better preparation and connection.
These workshops have been co-produced and facilitated with Local Carers, Brent Adult Social Care, CNWL Brent OPHA & Behaviour Specialists, Community Actions on Dementia (CAD) Brent, CNWL Recovery College, and Home Instead.
Please share the poster and details with anyone who might be interested in attending. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the lead organisers, Harry Leitch (Harry.Leitch3@nhs.net) or Branita Sekaran (Branita.Sekaran@nhs.net). “
