Dementia Peer Support Service
The Dementia Peer Support Project is a community based service for people living with dementia and their carers. This project is the result of feedback from members of the community living with dementia and their carers, to help meet the gap in appropriate support available in the community following a diagnosis of dementia. The aim of the project is to improve wellbeing, share knowledge, reduce social isolation, and empower people living with dementia and their carers, to continue living fulfilling and abundant lives in their communities. Peer Support services will be available at a variety of locations and settings across Brent.

Volunteering with CAD Brent
There are several dementia cafés operating across Brent who rely on the good will and support of local volunteers. During Covid these volunteers have become a lifeline to people living with dementia and their families, who have been isolated and desperate for some social interaction. The cafes have been keeping in contact with their guests in a variety of ways including by telephone, WhatsApp , Zoom or by a distanced doorstep chat.
If you have some spare time and would like to make a difference to the lives of people living with dementia and their families, please contact us for an informal chat.
